I've always wondered this, but why is pizza priced like restaurant food in America?
It's lower quality than anywhere else in the world, but it's like 2-3x the price you'd pay for a pizza of the same size in any European country.
It's not even just "food" being more expensive, since casual restaurants are less expensive in the states on average, just like most groceries.

So what it is that makes just pizza, and extremely shitty pizza when compared to every other pizza on the planet at that, so expensive?
