Hey again /tea/
Been quite a while but thought I'd give an update on the review document of my girlfriend's first initial experiences with "good" tea after only drinking the cheap western stuff for years whenever she had tea.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1XZC7jdrLDInvfOGzl-6QutrF65wzp3TU_r-EfpLep6k/edit?usp=sharing

Still 6 out of the 21 to go.
As expected, shou puerh/green tea is a no go(1, 3 & 4 out of 10), with black/white/oolong being consistently good (7-9). Wonder if the raw puerh will be a hit too

Any thoughts on the notes or recommendations for potential ones to look out for next haul? I already added the following to the list of teas to look at for next order based on other anon recommendations
>Tan Yang Gong Fu Black Tea
>gong mei
>jin jun mei
>ya bao
>shou mei

Reporting in with a report after gf tried her first five loose leaf teas. Put together a list of samples from recommendations here and here's some thoughts on them so far. Feel free to give some recommendations what might be good based on these notes.

They're in the order she had them. So far all of these have been done western brewing style, but smaller repeated steeps are planned for later

>Lapsang Souchong Wild Black Tea (Ye Sheng Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong)
8/10
Mostly tasting sweet/honey notes with a faint floral taste. Floral notes were enhanced during the second steep. Light and refreshing.
>Hua Xiang Xiao Zhong
7/10
Very light in colour as well as flavour. Much more apparent floral taste than the Lapsang Souchong Wild Black Tea; floral is the primary taste for me. Not too sweet; very easy to drink. Not detecting as much of a fruity flavour as others say
>Ripened Aged Loose Pu-erh Tea ( https://www.teavivre.com/loose-leaf-pu-erh.html )
4/10
Very interesting and unique flavor; can't say I've ever tasted any tea remotely close to this. Immediately hit with an earthy and smokey smell, and after my first sip I notice it... tastes like old books, or a thrift store? Not sure you're gonna get me to explain that one any better than that. Very dark in colour. Also detect a woody taste as well. Smoke definitely goes most noticed in the after taste
>White Peony (Bai MuDan)
9/10
Very light colour and light floral scent. Most notable taste is floral, but it's a very light floral taste which makes it feel very refreshing to drink. I also find a slight nutty flavour with the after taste too. With it being a low caffeine tea, it's perfect for something light and refreshing in the afternoon or early evenings
>Oriental Beauty ( https://www.teavivre.com/oriental-beauty-oolong-tea.html )
8/10
Very light in colour, quite similar to the Bai MuDan. The strongest taste I detect with this one is floral, but it's also softly sweet like honey. Somewhat astringent, but not unpleasantly so
