So im cooking the bird and a few sides for T-day. this is nothing new, have done it many times. I am thinking i would like to throw a smallish prime rib into the mix but im going to run out of oven space.

so i am thinking about starting the rib roast at high heat in the oven, then switching it out for the bird and finishing off the rib in my slow cooker.

crock pot prime rib seems like a terrible idea , but i have a pot/slow cooker large enough to fit the roast with room in every direction. maybe 25 minutes at high heat in the oven, then 4 hours at low (like sub 200) in the slow cooker.

so anyone try this?

outdoor gas grill could also be an option but its going to be colder than a well diggers tits, so not ideal.

I am seeing a ton of Pizza, a ton of hot wings, and alot of "Fish fry" or " Icelandic fish"

i agree with the self-reliance overlap theory. maybe also some cutlery fascination and the common hunter's interest in cooking.

personally, i was a /k/fag first but started posting here for a few reasons. one being i moved from being a chef to working in finance and i sometimes miss the industry so i can get my fix here, and later /k/ got really fucking /pol/ and that shit bores me.

I like to learn from people and share my knowledge via conversation with interested people. that is getting harder and harder to do on /k/, and i do have alot of knowledge pretty specific to this board, so here i am.
