>I only ever pick chanterelles and morels because the other ones scare me
I'm right there with ya, anon. I didn't eat that one, but it was a BIG BOY.
I once found about 8#s of Hen of the Woods on the way back from a store while attending a festival. we pillaged that shit and fried them in butter with some scant herbs...delicious!.
Mycology can be tricky, but these 3 and giant puffballs are easy.
(Fresh Giant puffballs sliced an inch thick and panfried in butter with rosemary tastes remarkably like steak.)
Thanks for reminding me about the morels--'Tis the season, and it's raining here.

Then you have natural immunity. That's how it's worked since the beginning of time.
Too sterile an environment is bad for you too--not saying to have a filth-pit like refrigerator anon, and truly, people are way more filthy and virulent than they were just 20 years ago, but a little bit of getting dirty every day, then getting clean, is good for humans.
Lose a little blood from time to time too.
In other words; Do stuff outdoors.
