I found these in my parents attic awhile ago. I stripped them down with a vinegar bath & wire brush and seasoned 3x, but it always sticks. I think the surface needs to be polished. It would cost ~$20 to get sandpaper and a sanding pad. It would cost $12+ for a sanding mouse but save a lot of time and effort. It would cost $25 to buy a new pre-seasoned skillet from China, but what are the chances I'll end up with another rough pan to deal with?

What would you do?

I was going to say that the outside from the first pics looked fine. What do you need to do to reach that point though? These two pans were sitting in an attic for 20 years and they're nowhere near that bad.

>Paying for a new cast iron skillet when you could find one at a garage sale for like $20.
Hell you probably have one in your parent's attic already.
