Got my new oldish stock glorious nippon teapot. Its very thick and heavy, pour is okay, lid fit is a bit rattley but the lid skirt is nice and long. I haven't had a chance to brew with it yet but the heat retention seems really good. I love the ash glaze from the kin, i guess this is called a sesame seed pattern because of the light colored dots.
Overall its pretty good but the lid fit is kind of a bummer and the construction isn't as precise as my modern yixing. That said it was also half the price of my modern yixing.
I will probably use it for roasted oolongs, old tea or anything else that benefits from brewing as hot as possible. Im interested to see how this Japanese clay performs taste wise.
