Dumb motherfuckers that don't have impulse control.
I work at a dollar store, and the usual staff is one manager, one cashier.
Yesterday I was playing the jewish piano and some white trash 40-something starts piling her full shopping cart onto the belt.
No placement or organization, just piling it as she grabbed it, no way for me to try and bag shit appropriately.
Halfway though, there's a small line building up.
I finish ringing everything up, it's $86 and change over about five bags.
She inserts her card, declined.
"Oh, this can't be right, I know I've got money on it."
Tries it again, same result. The line's longer now and she's calling her bank to see what the deal is.
She's using a fucking credit card and she's put $200 on it so far, she's got about $35 to spend.
This is when I break and have to call the manager for backup, while she's in the middle of a goddamn phone conference.
But this bitch needs to get some stuff for this birthday party, so she starts pulling out the stuff she's decided she can't do without and I'm going to have to postvoid this transaction and ring up the new one.
I finish with the second transaction and it goes through and I make sure she grabs the bags of stuff she paid for and send her on her way.
So now I've got a register covered in bullshit from every aisle in the store, all the go-back baskets are full, and I've still got customers coming at a steady pace for the next half hour. I push most of it down the belt to clear about a foot of space for people to set a basket down.
Then it takes another hour after dumping everything into a cart to put everything away in between customers.

And I wasn't even supposed to be there today.
