I just made these, and they're probably the best pleb-core meal I've made in recent memory.

I replaced 1/3 cup of water with 1/3 cup of American lager, and added probably a little over an oz of colby cheese. Also, I used 3/4 stick of butter with double the amount of ingredients (and probably more than that of black pepper). The recipe says 10-12 minutes, but it's more like 15-20 (I used an oven thermometer, so I don't think it's just me), and I also used a butter-coated baking sheet.

I then made some progresso clam chowder and loaded potato soup with beer and white wine on a low simmer to reduce to the original liquid amount (started this before I started doing anything with the biscuits). Dressed it up with a little butter, a bunch of pepper, some chives, dash of orcestershire, dash of liquid smoke, dash of red pepper flake, and a single drop of dave's insanity sauce.


This has had to be the best half-baked meal I've made that I can remember. I just thought I'd share that with you.

Speaking of soups...in response to Round 3 of the /ck/ challenge:
I've been looking online for a lobster bisque recipe, I've look through a few and the ingredients are mostly the same but the steps in the cooking process seem to differ quite a bit.

So, does /ck/ know of any tried and found to be good recipes for a lobster bisque?
