So, ignoring the chances that your franchise location could just be run by shit employees or managed by a shit manager; ignoring the possibility of it being in a shit neighborhood with shit guests; and ignoring the possibility that you live an area where taxes and transportation make it impossible to even enjoy a regular meal at an affordable price - iHop, Waffle House, and Denny's rank among their own categories respectably. Denny's doesn't even do waffles to the best of my knowledge, but huddle House does both.

Now, to me, I don't give a shit what one place has as opposed to the other place. To me, it's all about locality and atmosphere - and you will never achieve the atmosphere that a small, local, independently-owned business achieves.
