I have done things like this whilst working retail. I enjoyed asking customers if they were lost at the hardware store. I think my favorite thing to do was to respond to inquiries as to the location of the rest room with " oh absolutely, do you have to pee or poop?"
They pause because everyone wants to lead with pee. But then they think I wouldn't ask unless some weird shit was going down and they have separate bathrooms for different excrement.
I also would wince my eye and flex my shoulder while stammering "oh.. y-yeas it's mm-its o- its-o-overe there" and imply that I'm directing them with my face and neck flexing/spasming. You guys let me know when I'm rambling.
