Mine is extra parking lot space for the adjacent Honda dealership now, I kid you not. What sucks is our location was the only non-Chinese buffet for a hour's drive in any direction and was pretty good as many times as I went as a kid. But then it just suddenly shut down with no notice to anybody or those that worked there. Corporate got REALLY bad coverage in the local TV news when it happened, interviews with suddenly unemployed cooks and servers that come to open and found the building locked one morning, etc.

I love the chowder whenever I go to a Golden Corral, and I always get seaweed salad when I visit our local good Chinese buffet. I also load up at the salad bar if there is. It's about getting what you really like and as much of it as you want, not worrying about an imaginary competition. That said if you ever REALLY want to beat the buffet forget the meats/carving station and seafood. No, if you want to be sure you get your money's worth go to the dessert bar FIRST and eat as much cake, pie, pastries, chocolate, nuts, etc as you can. Those are the real high-dollar menu items and they count on you being mostly full from the main course items before hitting the sweets.

A las vegas-style bakery buffet that exclusively has sweets: chocolates, cakes, pies, doughnuts, cookies, ice cream, etc. all made in-house.
