No. Everyone sells pre-roasted coffee. You can find green unroasted beans but you have to specifically be looking for them.

Yes, it's usually recommended because whole beans will stay fresh longer. People make a big deal out of stale coffee, but it's not the end of the world if it happens.
Trying out preground coffee might be advisable before you decide to spend money on a grinder.

Yes, the grounds don't dissolve or anything. It's closer to brewing tea than mixing drink powder. Get a cheap plastic pour over cone and whatever filters go with it. Doesn't matter which brand, just whatever is cheapest.
French press is another option but it's a little more expensive.
Don't listen to the coffee general, they're a bunch of nerds who think buying things is a hobby.
