Damn though, I actually love a good hotdog, way more than a burger. By "good" hot dog, I mean an actual nicely-seasoned lean sausage (not just cheap bulk grocery store wieners) in an appropriately-sized roll with mustard, ketchup, relish (sweet or dill), grilled onions, and sauerkraut.
It's not a meal by any means, hell it's barely even "food". But it's damn tasty, and if I just need to eat something to hold me until a proper meal, a hotdog is fucking awesome. I even love the taste of the shitty cheap ones, just because of the texture and flavor combination of the whole thing, despite the crap meat. My usual diner go-to is like the Luigi/Ken of diner combos: Deluxe Hotdog/Chili-dog with onion rings. (the Mario/Ryu of diner combos being burger/chili-burger with fries).
