I bought a second hand oven / microwave from a coworker this weekend and decided to test it out today. The microwave function works fine and I've heated food up with it yesterday.

Just now started pre-warming the oven and a lot of light coloured smoke started pouring out after two or three minutes. Smelled like burning dust mostly, as if the oven part hasn't been used in a while. I've messaged my coworker if that's the case.

But now I'm stuck with a dilemma, I think it's dust but it could be something more dangerous. I'd really like to use it tonight without burning my house down.

Anyone ever encounter something similar?
