Why not? If you know that you will likely acquire a taste for the thing, as most people do after consuming something over a long period of time, why not develop an enjoyment for something over time? It will be a not-so-good part of a meal or snack or occasion for a while, and then you will eventually appreciate it. I did this with olives recently and Mediterranean food is better for me now because of it.
Do you give up trying everything if it doesn't 100% work out the first time? Sounds weak.
