Take care of leaks, and sources of moisture in the kitchen. As you probably know by now, keep all food properly sealed up in containers so that the roaches cannot get into the contents. A chip clip won't cut it here. It is imperitive that you keep your home (and particularly kitchen) spotless. If pest control laid down insecticidal gel baits in high traffic areas of the house, keeping everything clean (and thus free of food options for them) may encourage them to feed on the gel, and let it work its magic.

Now, I probably shouldn't recommend it, since it is technically illegal, but if you go to a Chinese market, you can almost always find "Chinese Ant Chalk." You take it, draw a little, lethal outline around hideouts where roaches will stay during the day (draw along the fridge, by the sink floor, etc.). When they come out at night and contact the chalk outline, they get some nasty poisons that should start working quickly. It will not be 100% effective, but it should make a dent, and will help in conjunction with your existing control measures. It's also dirt cheap.

That said, I would NOT recommend using it if you have kids or pets in your home. Also, use gloves when you handle it. It's made in China, the exact ingredients can change from batch to batch, so it's a bit of a crapshoot as to what harmful things made their way into a given batch (usually deltamethrin and cypermethrin as active ingredients, plus/minus a few other things and some binders) so once you're done relying on it, clean it up carefully with a damp disposable cloth, as sweeping or vacuuming may disperse it into the air, which probably wouldn't be good for your health.

The original Pest Control Anon recommended Advion gel bait, which - while more expensive - is going to be safer, more precise, and less messy than the death chalk.
