Sorry, not in AZ.

I can't find any more pics after the modification so that's all I've got, except for this closeup of the firebox door.

I did not have much experience when I built that pit but it was easily one of the best that I have made. Dumb luck paid off and it happened to have the exact right ratio of firebox to main chamber and smokestack size. Alas it looks pretty bad in these photos because of the lack of paint. The owner liked to use it for baked potatoes (hundreds at once) and would get the whole thing up to around 450F, so needless to say the paint doesn't last!

Close-up of firebox door. The door can lift off its hinges which makes it easy to remove for cleaning.

Make sure you fab up a grate of some kind so your wood sits above the bottom of the firebox. This lets air get underneath the fire so it burns more consistently. If you leave out this grate the smoker will still work but it will be a lot harder to control temps, and it will take a lot longer to initially heat up.

Closeup of the firebox door. I built it so that you can lift it off the hinges to make it easy to clean out the firebox when needed.

Closeup of firebox door made out of 1/4-inch thick plate steel. The hinges are made so you can open the door and simply lift it off which makes it really easy to clean out.
