My buddies and I have been going to the same local bar/restaurant for several years now to catch the Lions game every Sunday and now, I can’t watch football at home as the endless commercials are so fucking annoying whereas at the bar, you don’t even notice them and they provide an opportunity to shoot the breeze with your friends.

As far as Michigan, there are no "dry" counties, it’s only labeled “mixed” because;

Monday-Saturday - Retail sales permitted between 7 & 2 a.m.
Sunday Sales - Retail sales of spirits & mixed drinks not permitted without a Sunday Sales Permit.
Retail sales of all alcoholic beverages are not permitted before noon without a Sunday Morning Sales Permit.
Christmas - Retail sales are prohibited between the hours of 11:59pm on December 24th through 12:00pm on December 25th
New Years Eve - On-premise licensees may sell until 4 am on New Years Day.
