Ok where do you live where you can get buy these regional cheeses? I'm really interested to know.

Lol I chose low end because you said how lidl and aldi and "a large supermarket" (which i think it's fair to assume somewhere like tesco) have a wide a range of English cheese. and now you're telling me not to look at low end supermarkets? Get your argument straight m8.

Even high end supermarkets like waitrose basically have the same small selection of regional cheeses. Now compare to carrefour a low end supermarket in France that has huge diversity.

I chose supermarkets because the claims that the French are going crazy for English cheese or that England has a huge diversity of cheeses (700 lol) kinda relies on those cheeses being actually available to buy. So far all I have seen is a single fromagerie quoted by franco-phobic 'telegraph' and your claims which are entirely un backed up by links or even names of shops or anything! It's no good saying that England has 700 cheeses when nearly everywhere you go will have the same small selection of cheeses. I lived in York and all the local supermarkets (not small express/local chains) had very little. Meanwhile I go to a low end supermarket in France band I am overwhelmed with choice.
