A smooth inner surface is irrelevant, it’s just something that was done back in in the day when manufacturing costs were lower and companies could afford to turn the pans on a lathe to make them look nicer. If you absolutely positively have to have a smooth surface, find a local job shop and they’ll do it for you.

As for the whole “seasoning” meme, it’s just that, a meaningless meme. Just use your cast iron pan for frying and NEVER wash it, wipe it out with a paper towel and you’re done. If you’re not going to use it for a while, loosely wrap it in newspaper before putting it away to keep any dust from sticking.
