>Do Canadians really consider this “cuisine”
They really do, sad right? It's kind of the definition of Where's the Beef as well and jarred gravy not even made from a roast, wtflevel of utter crap poverty and poor sensibilites cooking. And, sogging out fries rather than dipping them is kind of dumb. You either need the oil for texture or you didn't. Wet moist and oily is stupid. Baked potato vs fried potato.
I always thought this recipe was dreamed up by an immigrant from Asia. It screams of currry gravy on 80% of a plate. If your climate is cood, I get it, comfy winter food, but it's the Roast Dinner minus the "roast'.

Things better:
Roast Beef with mashed potatoes and gravy.
Fully Loaded Baked potato/jacket potato
Cheese fries
Steak frites
Potato skins
Twice Baked Potatoes
Corned Beef Hash

Even Rappie pie is delicious, comfy and fun gelatinous texture, and nutritious and filling, and like no Canadians pretend to like it since it's poverty food too.
