Go to a decent diner. It's one of the most american things ever and honestly the shit.

Get a cup of black coffee, some eggs, bacon, homefries and a slice of some kind of pie. It's simple, won't cost you a fortune unless you go to some hipster place and you'll get called hun or some variation of a sweetener. It's the bee's tits.

What to do if I want to avoid diner prices but my friends & I like the diner experience?

I just got into cooking and never noticed how much my wallet was getting fucked over at diners. $8-9 for an omelette I could make for less than half that price. My buddies and I like the atmosphere of going out to eat though and being able to talk & catch up during it. The social aspect makes it.

Any alternatives that you guys have come up with? I thought about cooking with my friends but a few aren't really into it, but I don't want to shell out all this money anymore for stuff I can make myself and at a higher quality.
