I only drink water.

My water contains only the deuterium variety of hydrogen. Far superior to the regular, common, more simplistic sort, clearly intended for more garden variety simplistic people.

Only I actually am of better blood. Born better. And your "Coca-Cola", what are they saying now... open happiness? Heh... you know what they say about commoners and happiness.

With luck you may glimpse a drip of this beverage of the gods, as your feeble mind struggles to comprehend the intricacies of the vast wonder before and beyond you.

That's called label creep.

Pretty much, you get a drug approved for some purpose and get your foot in the door, then slowly pile on off label uses for it. Get as many people using it as possible. Patent expires, rinse and repeat.

I really wish we could go back to the early 1900's, late 1800's. When doctors were common but people were relatively self reliant and as a rule extremely distrustful. Modern medicine is little beyond its witch doctor quackery roots, people just perceive it differently and have been completely sold on this madness that is a (pharmaceutical) drug driven culture and life.

"You're having trouble sleeping? Hm..., well, let's not check your hormone levels, histamine levels, look for sources of stress and anxiety, look at diet and lifestyle, recommend exercise. Instead, here, this'll fix ya right up. Brand new atypical antipsychotic, you can forget the old days of that thorazine stuff, this is totally on another level and I can guarantee, entirely safe. Side effects are typically quite mild. All it does block dopamine receptors in your mesolimbic pathway, block serotonin receptors in multiple brain regions, reduce histamine in the brain (for better and worse, mind you!) and it does other well studied and understood stuff you and I don't need to know about.

Take this for 3 weeks, come back, tell me how you're doin'. If you're havin' problems, maybe I'll somethin' to fix that up. And then fix what that does up too. :^)

I only drink the most pure of water, refined to where even the hydrogen has been removed. In its place is the most pure and highest of grade deuterium.
