I like the way japanese moms make up their bantu(?) boxes for their kids lunches. so cute with the eyes on things etc, but the top level cuisine that chefs do is pretty arty. must be nice making a meal for someone you know or like, to give them something that looks cool. still, for me, I prefer more rustic layouts, not that I hate others. food art is such a strange field when you are making something ephemeral, to be enjoyed at the moment, as it is destroyed/consumed
