No, I come from a line of french chefs and their sous chefs. Its just a style of classical cooking that happens to be extremely influential in the west.

Interesting that I'm seeing this thread, OP, just got all of mine out 3 days ago. Still living through it as we speak.

Everyone's different, but don't take any suggestions that require any chewing before day 3 AFTER the surgery (that's peak soreness and pain, what I'm feeling right now). So far I've eaten:
Lukewarm pudding
Applesauce
Vanilla yogurt
Spiced tomato soup (not a great idea, was a little too acidic)
Chocolate and vanilla shakes made with ice cream/whole milk
Macaroni and cheese (just don't chew the pasta)
Lentil soup

Also, you really won't feel like cooking for yourself. I prepped both of the soups before I got the surgery and just heated them up a bit.
Also, if you have any questions besides just the food aspect, I'll probably be lurking a bit before I need to sleep.

sup /ck/
My sister and I live together and we just bought our first crockpot/slowcooker. We're wanting to eat healthier and cook our own food at home.
We decided that the first thing we cook in the slowcooker is going to be pulled pork.
So we bought some pork shoulder and honey bbq sauce.
I looked up recipes and some had onions and potatoes and other things, we decided not to cause it seemed too much like some stew or soup
>put pork shoulder in slow cooker
>add a bit of honey
>add honey bbq sauce
>added some water
>didn't measure these things just added what seemed right
it's been on low for about 8 hours now
I pulled the pork apart a little bit but it still needs an hour or so, I think.
Problem is, it is really watery.
Do I dump some/all of the water out and add more bbq sauce and let it cook in that for the rest of the time or do I wait until it is done to do that? I'm not sure what to do from here, all the recipes I looked at just have ingrediments and says how to add it to the slow cooker but nothing for after that.

hey /ck/ so I've taken all your wisdom on how to eat cheaply and since my sister and I have about .50$ to eat per day for the next two weeks, I need some ideas on what to make. I already have the rice and beans, but I need something to add to it since we can't eat just plain rice and beans every day. Also I have no clean dishes since we have no hot water to wash them with, so I need it to be able to be made with nothing but a few forks and three small plates. that's all I have clean. I guess i can clean my skillet and two small pots with cold water, since it'll be heated up that should be fine. There is also no heat in my apartment so I need it to be able to be cooked quickly, as when I set warm food down it gets cold really quick, it's winter time here and you can see your breath in the kitchen, so you know food is losing heat rapidly.
So any ideas on what I can add to rice and beans or other cheap shit, not ramen though my sister and I can't eat it because of emotional reasons, there has to be other cheap things out there than ramen.

Last I checked it is on netflix.
Also your English could be improved if you said, "Is there somebody here who has been to his restaurant?" or "Has anyone here been to his restaurant?"
pic unrelated, but food related.
I enjoy helping people improve their English.

>after you open it you need to store it in something else

Agreed, but zip-lock bags and such would only increase cost on something that doesn't sit around very long (at least at my house).

My method for opening and storing cheese; First I lay the wrapped cheese face down and carefully slit the package along the flap, then careful pull (or usually) slit the end crimp and cut off however much cheese I need.

After, I wrap the plastic under the remaining cheese and put a rubber band around it, then put it in a Tupperware container.

some pepto for the diarrhea, then proceed to order a chalupa, whatever flavor you like, caramel apple empenadas, are good to, they don't make a lot of their best stuff they used to anymore.
