I generally don't like Japanese curry, it's too watery and flavorless for me, but a lot of people who do like it go for Vermont brand. Try that out.

From what people say here and other places, Vermont. It's weird that it's called Vermont.

Pic related anon, go for the mild and add your own caliente.

If you absolutely must Japanese Curry. This brand apparently is the Japanesiest curry that you can curry. Do bear in mind though, that japanese curry is essentially what british curry would be if the britbongs never broke down and begged the Indians to help them fix their god awful corriander-slop.

Depends on what your preferences are. Personally I like Vermont curry a little more because it's slightly sweeter. Golden Curry is a pretty good brand one though.

Japanese curry is supposed to have a balance of sweetness and spiciness. In fact, some of them are sweetened using apples and honey (pic related). The flavor of the curry gets absorbed by the apple so it creates this unique flavor that's really nice.

It most definitely is not the same as apples in potato salad.
