real reason is because china designated paocai (泡菜) as a china culinary heritage very recently

泡菜 = chinese kimchi, or rather, chinese fermented cabbage.

of course the koreans think it is solely their cuisine, but its not. (not really, its a cross border regional dish)

like how miso and soy sauce originated in china.
