I went to McDonalds today and ordered a steak, egg, and cheese biscuit sandwich, a double order of hash browns, and a bacon clubhouse burger on the side.

The line at the drive thru was long today and the cashier was annoyed over the speaker, repeatedly snapping at me and asking me to repeat my order.

She asked me if I was ordering both breakfast AND lunch menu items, as if that was some sort of inconvenience! When I arrived at the window, the cashier was visually stressed and informed me that my order would take a few minutes.

The line began to build up behind me and I grew very anxious as time passed. I could see the drivers behind me staring at me as I waited for my order, AS IF IT WERE MY FAULT!

To pass the time somewhat comfortably, I turned up the volume to my audio book and closed my window. I was immediately disrupted by the cashier who handed me my hash browns, but said they're still waiting on the sandwiches.

I nervously ate the has browns while I waited, and the wait seemed interminable!

As I was considering driving away to the Wendys drive thru across town, The cashier handed me my sandwiches, with no explanation or apology. I quickly left the restaurant and parked a block away so I could eat my meal in peace.

The fact that so many people still name Mcdonalds as the greatest or most significant or most influential restaurant ever only tells you how far food still is from becoming a serious art.

Contemporary cooks never spoke highly of Mcdonalds, and for good reason. They could never figure out why it's food should be regarded more highly than their own. They knew that Mcdonalds was simply lucky to become a folk phenomenon (thanks to the Space Race, which had nothing to do with his food making merits). That phenomenon kept alive interest in it's (mediocre) food to this day.

Mcdonalds sold a lot of hamburgers and fries not because it was the greatest restaurant but simply because it's food was easy to sell to the masses they had no difficult content, they had no technical innovations, they had no creative depth. It just slapped together a bunch of vegetables and meat like every other burger stand. If somebody had not invented the Space Race in 1957, you would not have wasted your time reading this post about such a trivial restaurant.

So now that they serve breakfast all day can I go to McDonalds and order a big mac in the morning as well?

I've been working at Mc Donald's for almost a year now here in the UK, Northern Ireland to be precise. And time after time I find myself frustrated at all my co-workers, some of them are alright but most of them don't even follow proper procedure or just half ass it.

I mean they can't even neatly dress a burger properly, the sauce goes all over the bun when its meant to be centered. Simple shit like this gets on my nerves, maybe it's just that the company hires stupid people I don't know.

I actually kinda like mcdonalds. Like, they aren't the best, for sure. But I like cheap ass quality burgers. They are the tastiest.
