I'll accept your answer. My rebuttal is that smell is connected to taste. It's not an exact thing, but I think after having smelled it, I would not be surprised by the actual taste. Based on that, the watermelon I had, which wasn't very sweet to begin with and also room temp, tasted like urine when topped with salt. I do not believe in using salt to enhance sweet flavors. It just takes away from the sweetness. Sometimes it's acceptable to provide contrast, but I think anyone who thinks salt makes things sweeter is at least borderline retarded.
