No thanks, I only eat stuff where the guy I'm handing the money to knows the state, county, and official name of the individual farm that the individual cow lived on.

Enjoy your hormone infused antibiotic soaked frankenfood.

The real question is, if people can't afford good meat, why do they buy this crap?

Beans are cheap. You don't NEED for every meal to consist of 90% antibiotic hormone infused animal protein. Buy 5 pounds of good meat for what you would have spent on 25 pounds of scary factory farmed garbage, and make up the difference with something that's actually good for you.

The water injection happens after death, though.

Also for some reason every time I post this a mod deletes the image and not the post. It doesn't make sense, since it is food related, but enjoy while it lasts.

Hey mods what exactly are you smoking tonight? Because right now there's a picture of semen soaked waffles on the front page >>4796857, as well as tits and ass everywhere, and I don't see anything being done about it, but for some reason this picture of meat that wasn't intentionally tampered with is getting deleted without explanation.

What's the problem with this picture, exactly?

What's your meat budget, /ck/?

Lately I've cut my meat consumption drastically. I'll have a steak once every two months or so (about $30 since I don't buy meat from a shitty grocery store), chicken once a week (about $16 for a good quality air chilled heritage breed bird from a local farm, which is good for 2 or 3 meals not including stock), but aside from that I get all my protein from dairy and legumes.

Do you really feel as though it's important to have a large heap of animal flesh making up the bulk of your meals?

Actually modern meat processing is specifically geared towards gaming the system, which is why the poultry industry successfully lobbied for new processing methods that cause the bacteria tests to show false negatives, reduce processing time by a few fractions of a second, save a few million bucks for senior management, and give all the workers horrible diseases. They know everyone has been trained from birth to nuke the living shit out of their meat because it's just taken for granted that anything from modern chickens is essentially a biohazard, so it doesn't matter.

Enjoy your inexpensive meat.

All bananas are organic by definition. If you do a lab test, they are indistinguishable from one another. This newfangled "organic" trend just started in the past year or two since I moved away for college. Same with vegetarians and nutella.

You should really watch more Penn & Teller, they do some great documentaries on why people are so stupid (especially liberals).

If the meat was dangerous, people would get sick and the companies would go out of business. The free market can regulate far more effectively than some government loving hippies.

It shocks me how little people understand of basic economics. It's a dirty word around here, much like science.

The problem is real but you're mixing up a number of different issues. I don't know what makes you think the neck pieces are special. You can get sick from all kinds of things and if it's prions you fear, those can get into other parts of the meat through cross contamination. The antibiotics problem is more of a systemic threat and the repercussions aren't from eating the meat per se. Other chemicals like antimicrobials sprayed all over the carcasses at the plant are also pretty gross and have been implicated in health problems for plant workers, so eating them is probably not the greatest thing if you can avoid it.

If Germany is anything like the US, buying meat from independent farmers is really. fucking. expensive. But if you have a decent middle class income this is an affordable luxury and it tastes better.

If meat was twice the price that it is now, would you

a. Eat less of it
b. Eat different cuts
c. Sacrifice something else so you can keep eating the same as you do now
