I despise Thai cuisine, but that's exactly why I don't think it's overrated. I don't think it's BAD, I think I just fucking hate all of their flavour profiles. So I'm not gonna even bother judging it; it's just useless.

Japanese cuisine, on the other hand, is overrated as fuck. Almost all of it is either not Japanese (e.g. ramen), or bland at best and horrid at worst. Japanese curry, in particular, tastes awful. Sushi is their one good thing.
And yet everyone says they like Japanese cuisine even though they've never had anything other than wagamama and yo sushi.
