Celebrity chefs cannot represent /ck/, nor can pricks like Blumenthal. Sure, many /ck/ threads are about high-end food and cooking, but just as many are about fast food. Or cigarettes. Or beer.

I'd say the immortal god-king should represent all aspects of /ck/, or at least the good ones, and should be a teacher rather than just a chef with a highly-rated restaurant.

My choice candidate is Jacques Pepin, for his mastery of cooking and instructive style, backup is Alton Brown for explaining the simple science behind cooking, and focusing on techniques instead of recipes.

Neither, however, is pretentious enough to truly represent the spirit of you fags. Is there an instructor as practiced and explicative as Pepin, but with a "better-than-you-faggots" attitude? I think so.

Are you as sick as I am of what "food celeb" culture has become? Where you get some fucker who's never worked in a restaurant in his life to be a "food personality", go around tasting shit, praising it mindlessly, and getting paid for it? Pic related, god damn.

I mean, we USED to have people like Alton Brown and Anthony Bourdain as bros who stood up against the trend, but now they're both shills for Food Network and CNN respectively who have sold out. The idea of food television is pretty much dead.

The only decent channel left is Cooking Channel which OCCASIONALLY has some decent programming on or Nigella's huge milftits but even that can't hold a candle to Martin Yan or old Two Fat Ladies episodes
