I swear, most of you anons have no idea how good the 80's and early 90's were for fast food, and stuff like this. Take it from a wizard (born 1980 here) you guys are getting fucking taken by the food companies nowadays. Older anons, back me up on this one if you would; Food just doesn't taste as good nowadays as it used to! I mean sure some stuff is still okay, but it's mostly done by smaller chains that haven't compromised their recipies to save money. Things like sunny D and almost any american chocolate, for example, have had their tastes completely fucked. Planters cheese balls were so far beyond any other cheese chip type snack(including cheetos nowadays), it's unreal. They had a crispness and a cheesiness that makes me want to cry when i taste an utz cheese ball. (I'll be honest though, those puffy cheez it's really do come close.)

Plus, back then they'd do crazy shit just to see if it would stick, rather than just 'play it safe' and copy some other companies product with a different face.

For example:

you niggers don't know how good this was, I had to look it up to make sure I wasn't dreaming that I had eaten this as a child.

If I ever won the lottery, I'd buy the rights to this, and planters cheez balls recipe and make millions.

Probably buy the rights to teenage mutant ninja turtle pies too... but that's probably nostalgia talking. (btw, hostess was far shittier than it used to be back then, even before bimbo (aka mexico) bought it out.
