He has tried to cook but he makes a huge mess, takes him 3 hours to make the simplest foods like pasta and doesn't clean up after himself. It's easier on me if I just cook for him because I can clean up straight away.

I sometimes fantasise about him saying "I've got dinner covered tonight so don't worry about cooking after work"
Is this unrealistic?
I'm always asking thinking about their meals each day, they would just get burgers or pizza if I don't cook.
I was raised in a gender roles based home so I'm not sure if I'm being too feminist or whatever.
