Bacteria synthesize it.

When you live in an unnatural environment, you have to make unnatural fixes to the problems it causes. Cavemen didn't wash their vegetables before eating them. In modern times, the healthiest, safest way to get B12 is to take a supplement for it, which is recommended even for people who eat meat as many people have absorption issues. There's no reason to get all the medical baggage that comes with meat-eating just to get B12

It's like nobody even knows what B12 is.

The amount of B12 you need is ridiculously small and your body recycles it like hell, because we evolved as plant eaters. There are also meat eaters who are deficient in B12 because their body isn't able to absorb it properly, in which case they too need a B12 supplement.

I don't understand the idea of "I need B12, so I might as well get some heart disease and cancer along with it." Either stop washing your vegetables, which would be the natural way to get B12 in the diet, or take a B12 pill, which is what mankind has made in order to fix the B12 problem that we caused for ourselves by completely changing the way we live. A B12 supplement is the healthiest way to get B12. You don't have to trade other diseases for it.

Also

>Iron, calcium, zinc, Vitamin B2 , and calcium

There isn't a single food I eat that doesn't have these minerals. Minerals don't come from animals, they come from plants.

He's right though. B12 doesn't "come from animals," it comes from bacteria. If the cow doesn't eat what it needs for the bacteria in its gut to synthesize B12, it isn't going to come out of nowhere. EVERYBODY is recommended to be taking B12 supplements these days. You don't have to trade heart disease for B12

B12 in the modern world is a concern diet-wise, although it's the hardest vitamin to become deficient in, but I can't take you seriously if you're trying to tell me you can't get calcium, vitamin D, zinc, and iodine on a plant diet. Vitamin D doesn't even require you to eat anything, you can get it from standing in the sun for a few minutes. All dairy has vitamin D supplementation added, is milk now aimed at vegans?

And when you say "you can get some omega 3s from avocados," you're making me think that you're under the impression that avocados are the only source of fat in plants. Nuts obviously exist as big fat sources, but you should know EVERY plant has fat in it, much of which is omega-3s/6s. Eat some broccoli and kale for protein, omega-3s, calcium, zinc, and some beans or even just salt for iodine

So take a pill. Vitamin B12 is the hardest vitamin to become deficient in, but to get it in your diet, the healthiest source is undeniably a B12 supplement pill. B12 pills are recommended to be taken by all people regardless of diet, especially those above age 50

And I shouldn't have to tell you that vitamin D comes from the sun
