On the subject of McD's how about the Arch Deluxe? I really liked this thing but the advertising around it being "for parents" was pretty bad. "It is estimated that McDonald's spent over $300 million on the research, production, and marketing for the Arch Deluxe." and it was an utter flop, jesus

That burger was fucking tasty. A couple days ago I made a copy cat version of the sauce and It came out pretty well. made a burger with it last night. It was great.
I think the reason they got rid of it was that it didn't sell well enough to keep around so many ingredients just for one burger. potato sesame seed bun, mustard mayo sauce, leaf lettuce, and peppered bacon. none of those things were on any other sandwiches at the time.
recipe I used
1/2 teaspoon dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon stone ground mustard
2 Tablespoons dukes mayo
I added some fresh cracked pepper too, because I love pepper
I also tried the same recipe with miracle whip instead of real mayo and they were both good. the one with Miracle Whip was just sweeter

the arch deluxe sauce was good as hell.

i was 9 years old when i had it, and i still remember it.

lots of pungent and sharp ingredients: garlic, onion, mustard, lemon juice. i think horseradish too.

the pic here is not what an American arch deluxe was. not the right sauce. pic shows mustard. it was a pepper mustard mayo sauce, it had ketchup, didn't have chopped cherry tomatoes, was a regular slice, didn't have pickles, had only one beef patty, the optional bacon was peppered, and the bun was sesame seed potato bun
if they do bring it back, and I hope they do. I hope it looks like the original

Arch deluxe.

The sauce was what made it. I can't recall the exact flavor, but I remember enjoying it so much.

It wasn't just brown mustard. I think there was some strong horseradish, onion, and garlic in there too.
