Since literally forever. Even if you aren’t making mead, honey is often added to cider, and is a pretty fucking common adjunct in a lot of different styles of beer.

I cringe every time I see someone larping as a poor fag and trying to make liquor out of a gallon jug of good value fruit punch with baking yeast and a fucking balloon over the top of the plastic bottle. A proper airlock costs 50 cents, and a bottle of Star San is like $10 and will last you a year. If you’re going to do it at least take the most low effort, low investment steps to make sure your ghetto toilet hooch isn’t fucking rancid. All this shit has been easily accessible for longer than more people here have even been alive.

Nobody did it to you but yourself. Sugar is a drug and you're an addict. Start cutting out overly sweet shit from your diet and after a month or two you'll realize that everything else starts tasting much more interesting and complex, while shit like cookies/candy/soda just taste disgustingly sweet and you'll wonder how anyone can eat it in anything more than small quantities.

I work at a small place but don't trust some new kid or a server looking to cut up some lemons not seeing my knife roll stashed away and looking through it to find a knife, and then just throwing it in the dish pit when they're done. I'd much rather look like a nerd walking 20 feet to my car with my knife roll than coming in everyday with a pair of nail clippers and a fresh pair of socks sticking out of my back pocket for whatever reason like a fucking psychopath.
