A professional knife sharpener recommended Knifewear and Paul's Finest to me as maple syrup alternatives to CKTG. The former is for weeaboos but the latter has some chinese cleavers.

Also, with so many Chinese restaurants around and with the knife shape being popular enough with chefs of all stripes, you should be able to just pop in to any restaurant supply store and find a bunch of cleavers hung up in the knife section.

I bought a cheap one at Wholesale Club and I'm quite happy with it.
