If Davenport, Iowa is known for any particular kind of food, it's probably this strip-cut pizza with very finely ground sausage underneath thick mozzarella.

As someone that's from Iowa and has been to Solly's dozens of times on trips to Milwaukee, I can understand why their burgers wouldn't be someone's cup of tea, even if they really liked butter. It's not a place I'd take someone if they were just in the mood for a burger, it's a place I'd take them if I said "ok, I want to show you a local specialty, it's not like anything you've had before, let's go."

Someone else mentioned Harris pizza, hell yeah. Strip-cut, finely ground fennel sausage under the cheese, thin tangy sauce, malty crust, mmm. It's about as Midwest as you get, really, next to Happy Joe's taco pizza.
