if there's one thing I really despise, it's middle class trying to act sophisticated and high class by using fancy kitchen gadgets. Keurig barely gets a pass because coffee is a utilitarian thing and it is an actual convenience. This kind of thing though? You can just tell that this soccer mom is going to load up her gluten free corn tortilla with a whole unripened avocado slice, some barely seasoned "marinated" tough flank steak cooked medium rare (it came out medium well though, but they'll still say it's perfect) bought fresh from her local wegmans, and maybe some lime and cilantro. It'll be bland, somehow watery, and "ethnic". Everything will be pristine and presented on giant plates on a granite island countertop, but they'll still never be truly upper class. They'll take out their pent up envy on the next waitress at their local carrabbas over the warm glass of zinfandel while simultaneously drinking the whole bottle anyways.
