as far as fast food goes? Probably not. But why pay $20+ for a fast food burger+fries when I can get a restaurant burger+fries (takeaway) for that price.

I'm not sure what good burger restaurants there are in the US, but in Bongland we have this place called Byron. The burgers are miles better than FiveGuys for the same price (actually slightly cheaper).

As fast as possible. Immediately throw buns in a toaster and press a thin patty into a pan at high heat. Salt and pepper whenever convenient. In five minutes flip it and add a melting cheese, in five more it's done. With practice and the right stuff in your fridge that's long enough to prepare a good number of toppings on the buns and put everything away. Then add the patty and clean the pan, finishing at 12-15 minutes.
