hello /ck/

I had to move to a different city for university and rather than living in a dorm i moved in with my Aunt and Uncle. My uncle is white and he married a Filipino lady. She is very nice to me and there is always food in the house. However, I'm just not fond of her food at all. It's not the fact that it's filipino/asian food it's just in general she is an aweful cook. I am by no means a picky eater and i have always tasted everything she has offered me. But /ck/ i have a problem that i hope some of you can help me with...

It's the God damn SMELL of her cooking! The whole house seems to be embedded with the stench of everything she has ever cooked. I can't even describe this odor but i hope some of you know what i'm talking about. Everytime i open the front door it hits me like a brick and it takes me awhile to stop noticing it. I'm kind of ashamed to invite friends over. Not only this, but this odor seems to steep into all my clothes and hair. I'm getting tired of spraying everything down in febreeze and cologne. the weirdest is all is everytime i leave the house my fingers smells strongly of garlic, even though i haven't touched the stuff. i've made a point of washing my hands before going out and that only seems to help a little bit. How do you guys cope with cooking odors??????

>tl;dl how do you get rid of the lingering stench from food?
