Unless you only eat in one of these business belt cheesecake factory areas or live in like Ohio, or literal North Dakota, most "ethnic food places" in the US actually kind of just cater to people from that country. A lot of people still have this weird idea of like American-Chinese food from the 70's that is basically archaic at this point, or think we don't understand the difference between Mexican food, Tex-Mex, and Taco Bell.
