I grew up in a rural town where most people on my street were farmers. My neighbors had a duck and pig farm. For a short while old man duck drove an ice cream truck, I guess as a somewhat short-lived side business.

One summer day we were over there playing and he invited us all onto the ice cream truck and let us pick out one ice cream each.

The freezers were packed with dead pigs. Gutted, but with their heads still on and their pink hooved legs jutting up into the air. I reached in between the carcasses and grabbed a screwball in a paper cone.
