I quit being an RN after 12 years to become a cook last year and have found it very easy and less stressful.
It's all about attitude and how used to you are to dealing with being busy. Obviously, the fact that I was used to cooking at home helped quite a bit as well.
When I started, they didn't even expect me to know how to peel and chop a damn onion, because apparently a lot of culinary students don't.
Almost all of the stress and strain of being a cook/chef is manufactured in the head. These people just need to take a deep breath and calm down a little.
It's not like waiting another minute is gonna kill the client in this biz. Unlike the ICU.

caught up on rest since we were closed on mother's day. had a solid 2 1/2 days off feels good. only worked like 3 hours today to get my station caught up on new menu prep. chef got tacos for us. pretty comfy.
