Step 1: Cook
Step 2: Leave in cold water for 10 minutes
Step 3: Light crack on both ends
Step 4: Try to peel with the thumb joint for large and equal force, via large surface area

But you won't develop the needed hand/finger movement unless you do batches of 10-20 of them.
If peel in a work environment, you are looking at peeling at the least 50-200 a day, which is why most shops buy brine soaked peeled eggs instead.

We use them in Norway + Sweden + Denmark
But its for serving the egg to be eaten with a spoon, and salting/peppering as you go along.
Its a novelity to eat the egg differently.

I would argue egg slicer + rye flatbread is the superior way to eat eggs. With some added smørgåsbord ingredients on top, for extra luxury.

I'm against single-use and useless gadgets as much as anybody, but an egg slicer is NOT one of them!

I have one and honestly I rarely use it for eggs. Its awesome for things too small, tedious, or slimy/slippery to do easily a knife.

Examples:
Mushrooms and olives for pizza.
Strawberries, grapes, peaches, pears, bananas, kiwi (oh god, especially kiwi!) etc for fruit salad, baking, layered desserts.
Soft cheeses (fresh mozzarella, bleu, feta)
Ham, spam, hot dogs.

And my personal favorite: Avocado! Instantly turns even a slightly overripe avocado into beautiful perfect slices ready to be added to everything from pizza, sandwiches, wraps, and sushi.

Rice cookers are also super useful for more than rice. Fuck garlic pressers and citrus reamers though. Useless crap.
