rabbits aren't neotenous at all. They are highly progenital, because they're both herbivores and prey animals.

herbivores need a non-neotenous set of eyes to see danger from all angles. On top of that, rabbits are very small, and need a sensitive adrenergic system compared to something like buffalo or rhinos.
