Thank you, Anon. I try to keep my brother and girlfriend entertained at meal times since I'm currently out of work and feel like a bum. Ssalyeot/rice syrup is very versatile. You seem serious and outgoing with your cooking so, I would say it's certainly worth picking up a small bottle and trying it in different applications. In the mean time, a dash of honey, brown sugar, or even plain sugar in the dipping sauce will add a positive difference in taste, in my opinion.
