School food was so good, looked bad but taste good, I was always satisfied after a hot school lunch a lot of times I'd buy extra

Where did US schools get their food ? I find some school foods were really great and in a particular quality that I can't find in any major brands at the store.....things that particularly come to mind are the hamburgers and cheeseburgers which came in indivudual plastic bags, "baked spaghetti" as I recall that came in a cardboard container with plastic on top, and the hexagonal Mexican pizzas that looked just like pic related
