One of the problems with giving fruit juice to kids is the sugar content in it is satiating and it makes them less hungry for meals so they won't eat what you put in front of them at dinnertime. Much in the same way, adults should THEORETICALLY not be as hungry or willing to eat as much after drinking a liquid full of calories. Your coworker is probably one of those people who eats until she is no longer hungry, not until she is full/stuffed like your average hamplanet
